Snoloha Rob and his ‘Stache

15 Nov 2012 / 0 Comments / in Blog, Snoloha Customers/by Snoloha Rod

My good my buddy Rob is participating in MOvember.  What is MOvember?  During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.

It’s a fun way to raise way for an important cause.

Rob shared this image of he, his ‘Stache and his Snoloha gear (the Snoloha Island Trucker Hat and an old school hoodie no longer available)…and the link you can follow to donate to Rob’s MOvember efforts and help fight cancer.

I never realized how good Snoloha would look when complemented with the ‘Stache.

Taking Winter to the Beach

05 Sep 2012 / 0 Comments / in Snapshots & Scenery, Snoloha Customers/by Snoloha Rod

When we launched the Take Your Winter Gear to the Beach photo contest, I wasn’t sure what kind of reaction we’d get.  It is a lot to ask.

While I was working the Snoloha booth at the TC Waterman Expo a few weeks ago, I met Dan and Michelle.  They said they had taken their winter gear to the beach and had a ton of fun getting photos.  And that YES, people were looking at them strangely.

Well, they did not disappoint, and they are now the winners of the Snoloha, Boyne Country Sports and MiSkiReport prize package thanks to their creativity and efforts.

And just you both know, I’ll be incorporating these photos into Snoloha marketing!

And how else can a guy legitimately explain to his wife that he received via email a photo of a girl in her swimsuit, on the beach, with a pair of skis, smooching the camera!  It’s all for the business.  A tough job, I tell ya.

Snoloha Goes Fishing

Another great photo and note from a Snoloha fan / customer:

I have one of your stickers on the back window of my truck and you would not believe the questions I get. Anyways this pic was taken on Lake Huron on my friends charter boat “Stormy Chinook”. Captain Dan seems to think this lake trout my be a candidate for 2012 master angler. 36 inch and 19 lb 10 oz.

Thanks again, Jeremy, for the continued support and business.

SUP with Snoloha in Germany

Longtime Snoloha customer and fan, Robert, sent in these great pics and the note:

‘SUP Rod?

Attached images are from a Rhine River Paddle this weekend past the Loralei (Rhine version of Sirens causing ship wrecks) 50 degrees North in case you’re wondering, Kathleen and Owen are back in Hawaii so I get to hang out here and do dumb things.

Thanks again, Robert, for the continued business and support.

Creating Memories

23 Jul 2012 / 0 Comments / in Blog, Snoloha Customers/by Snoloha Rod

Received this great note and photo from Ryan, a Snoloha customer in Utah:

Here is a quick photo that shows the “high” company that Snoloha runs with!

Here is a quick rundown of some of your buddies out here in the west.

  • Life Is The Adventure
  • Yellowstone National Park
  • Wyoming Hwy 22
  • Blue Ribbon Flies
  • West Yellowstone, MT
  • Jackson Hole, WY
  • MOAB
  • Sun Valley
  • Grand Teton National Park
  • Hwy 101 (Cannon Beach, OR)
  • Ski Iowa
  • Ketchum, ID
  • Mickey Finn’s Fly Box
  • Kaysville, UT
  • Colorado
  • Glacier National Park
  • SL,UT (Salt Lake, Utah)
  • Snoloha
  • Yellowstone again

My wife built me this board so that I can showcase some of my favorite places we have been to either skiing, hiking, mt biking, snow shoeing ect.  This way as I move and change cars ect the memories can stick with us.

“The memories can stick with us.”

That’s EXACTLY what Snoloha is suppose to do – create a memory.  And that memory can be recalled at anytime by simply closing your eyes and escaping.

Thanks again, Ryan, for the continued business and support.

Break glass in case of emergency

14 Mar 2012 / 0 Comments / in Blog, Snoloha Customers/by Snoloha Rod

Seattle Dave has been a longtime Snoloha fan, customer and supporter.  He recently submitted this entry to share on the Barefoot & Exposed blog.  If you’d like to contribute to the blog, I’d love to have you.

This morning, as I watched the “Today” show, Al Roker really pissed me off. As the weather map of the USA popped on the screen, he was a little bit too delighted by the “unseasonably” warm temperature across 99% of the country. The remaining 1% I happen to live in and as I squint my eyes to see through the blowing sleet while wrapped up in a parka, I really think this state sucks. I live in Washington, and though we get a sometimes deserved bad rap about our weather, it is usually not too bad. This week is the worst for me. I don’t like the cold…really anytime, but combined with thick rain and wind that pierces to the bone, I really hate it.

My response to these desperate times is Snoloha and Jimmy Buffet. I have a “break glass in case of emergency” kit for these occasions. I busted some glass today. I am currently wearing my beaten and faded blue Snoloha hoodie as Jimmy Buffet sings of sand, warm water and boat drinks. My “kit” has received some substantial use over the years. And I am so happy that Snoloha was invented to recognize the need to escape and feel warm and calm and to strip down life to its bare essentials. It saves me.

Snoloha represents a certain wanderlustful dream of simpler times. It is always good and always warms up the pieces of me that need some sunshine. It serves places that often get overlooked in my busyness of busy. It is peace and it is joy and it is soft in a life of much hardness. It represents the best things about a life. It is a reminder that my feet will feel warm sand and that my shoulders will get sunburned again. These things are easy to forget when faced with 36 degree rain.

For these reasons, I will keep my “kit” handy and know that I can hit the beach, if only in my mind, for a few minutes and retrieve the parts of my soul that would be lost if not for this thread-bare and beautiful Snoloha sweatshirt.

Sounds like Seattle Dave needs a new hoodie.
