September 1st…and burr is there a chill in the air here in northern Michigan. I can’t believe how fast summer has flown by. Though Fall does mean great sailing, college football, my favorite attire (hoodies), Autumn colors, late season baseball and more Saturday cookouts.

There’s even plenty of t-shirt days left. And if it is chilly, throw a long sleeve underneath. I’m still clearing out ALL guys and gals short sleeve t’s for $15.00. So grab ’em while they are hot (er, more like room temp). Or, if you’re like my mom, you could buy for Christmas presents. Or, if you’re like me, you wait until Christmas Eve.

This time of year living in a resort / tourist town always gets me thinking about a certain Buffett song (okay, so I live my life drawing parallels with Buffett & Seinfeld…could be worse!). Back to that Buffett song:

“The Coast is Clear”

They’re closin’ down the hangout
The air is turnin’ cool
They’re shuttin’ off the superslide”
The kids are back in school

The tourist traps are empty
Vacancy abounds
Almost like it used to be
Before the circus came to town

That’s when it always happens
Same time every year
I come down to talk to me
When the coast is clear

I love that line, “I come down to talk to me, when the coast is clear”. So I talk to myself as well…yes, I realize I have issues.
