Snapshots & Scenery

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

There’s been a flurry of Snoloha Snapshots & Scenery received lately…keep ‘em coming! You might win FREE gear.

Marc sent this pic of his Snoloha visor and a margarita via a text message…all it said was “tiki bar”. I do believe I know the spot he was referring to.

Snapshots & Scenery (winner)

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Thanks Andy, for the great Snoloha photos from Grand Marais…and to your lovely wife for sporting her SnoFlake Palm Tree hoodie. And yes, you will now have more Snoloha gear to take photos of as you are the Snapshots & Scenery winner for August!

Named by the French voyageurs in the 1600’s, Grand Marais means the Great Pond, used as a Harbor of Refuge. Situated on the shore of Lake Superior, Grand Marais serves as the eastern entrance to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

If you want a chance to win free Snoloha gear of your own and to be the envy of your social circle…and quite possibly jump start your online modeling career, just email them to me, or post ‘em to Facebook.

Snapshot & Scenery

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

I was going through my “Misc Photos” file that stares at me daily on my desktop and happened (I like using that word) across these pics that I thought seemed fitting to post on a beautiful, sunny August day.

A Corona on a chairlift…with a Snoloha sticker of course.

And me and Capt Dave from Bay Breeze Yacht Charters sailing in December on the Snoloha Yacht (it’s only 23′ long, but saying ‘yacht’ makes me feel better)…and of course I’m sporting the Snoloha Sailor Beanie (notice the focus on my face…or maybe it was just frozen. And that hat that Dave is wearing…what’s that all about?)

Why these photos on a day like today? I think they do a perfect job at showcasing the “Snoloha concept”….enjoying and combining all the seasons that Mother Nature throws at us, “somewhere between the islands and the arctic.”

Okay, I showed you mine…now show me yours.

Yup…this is one of my favorite things, receiving pics of folks enjoying their Snoloha gear and their Snoloha lifestyles. Keep ‘em coming, you might get more gear (free) by doing so!

First up is Kelly & Miles enjoying a camping trip at Pisgah National Forest, NC.

Snapshots & Scenery

Thanks, Rachel…for the great pics.

Snoloha makes humans of all ages happy, guaranteed (I need to run that guarantee by my attorney, since guaranteeing happiness is quite a claim).

How about “Snoloha makes humans of all ages happy, I’m pretty sure.” That might be a bit safer.

So…go out and play. Get off the computer, turn off the mobile handcuff, forgot about everything for awhile and…play.

These never fail to make my day and bring about a sense of happiness with what we are together growing, Snoloha. So if you want to contribute to my level of daily happiness, all you gotta do is send ‘em in (photos, comments, what Snoloha means to you, etc). Remember, you can win FREE gear by doing so!

First up is Alison from Texas and a recent trip to the island of Roatan (Honduras) sporting her Snoloha Definition T, and I think that might be a SnoFlake Palm Tree hat but I’ve yet to confirm…so I’ll just assume, it makes me even happier.

Next up is Seattle Dave…actually he’s just south of Seattle, Washington is a town called Des Moines. So technically he is Des Moines Dave. Not only did he send a photo but also what Snoloha means to him.

Snoloha is….many things….including Mother’s Day!!!!

Snoloha is an escapist brand, identifying with wanderlustful fantasies of tiki bars on some distant island. It is a silent, clean peak with virgin snow and soft lines. It is also a thoughtfully delivered, (in bed, of course) Mother’s Day gift of chocolate chip pumpkin spice cookies (gone), coffee (gone), Gerber daisies, and an intricate card, handmade by a six year-old girl. It is an escape TO the not-so-rare gems of beauty that reside in daily life. Snoloha is this, too and it feels good whenever and wherever you are.

A Little Help…

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Growing a brand online is…complicated, between the Facebook’s and Twitters and shopping carts and analytics and mobile devices and search engines and this and that and yada yada yada.

By far my favorite and most enjoyable aspect of this crazy online world we live in is this blog. I’ve been blogging since late 2006. That is a lot of rambling! Not once has any blog post ever been written for search engine optimization purposes. SEO nuts will think I’m nuts. But the reality is that I write for my customers and not for Google. And yes, I know Google is watching, they control everything.

I hope all of you enjoy this blog and the words that I try to string together to fill it.

With sailing season finally upon us here in northern Michigan, it is my duty to be sure the Snoloha Sailing Yacht (again, it’s all of 23 feet in length, so it’s really not a yacht but it’s fun to say ‘yacht’) has plenty of time on the water with sails flying. You see, since it’s name is “Snoloha” it really is work related and extremely important to the long term sustainability of the brand that it makes as many public appearances as possible. As they say in the advertising world…it’s all about number of ‘impressions.”

This is a very tough job and I’m up for the challenge, but I thought I’d ask for a little help…filling this blog! And, if you are in Traverse City this summer, you could always help fly some sails.

Here’s what I’m thinking (scary, I know):

  • Nothing makes my day more than receiving photos of folks in their Snoloha gear. So start sending ‘em in! And remember you could win more Snoloha gear by doing so.
  • Don’t have any Snoloha gear yet? No worries, mon. Send in photos of your Snoloha lifestyle…for a chance to win Snoloha gear. Then you will be able to send in photos of you in your Snoloha gear for a chance to win more Snoloha gear. At that rate you can have a wardrobe of Snoloha gear without ever paying for it! Hmmm…maybe I need to rethink the contest rules.
  • Send in your answers to the question, “What does Snoloha mean to you?”
  • Send in your own Snoloha Barefoot & Exposed blog post…of course I’ll review and get your permission before posting and you will be credited as the author.

There you have it…4 ways you can contribute to the Snapshots & Scenery blog and ultimately make my challenge of sailing as much as possible this summer attainable.

Here’s all the contact info.
