It’s approaching 10:30 pm here in northern Michigan. They’re predicting a nice snowfall overnight, and it has gently began falling as I look out my window.

A good friend was over tonight and we were taking care of some “computer stuff” with his new MacBook Pro, and yes I’m jealous he has a new Mac…I have Mac envy.

Well, after we finished up the computer work, I decided to finish printing some marketing materials that I have been working on all day, and I was not looking forward to it.

I poured a glass of wine and decided to make the best of it. I cracked open my iTunes library and hit random. The first song to play was John Lennon, “Watching the Wheels”. If that first line doesn’t “get you”, the way he sings it, the way the music starts, then I don’t know what will – “People say I’m crazy doing what I’m doing”.

Next thing I know, I found myself with my feet propped on my desk, the whirring of my printer in the background, the snow falling outside my window, listening to John Lennon, enjoying a glass of wine…and petting my dog who happened to be sitting by my side.

Now if that isn’t some sort of “moment”, then I don’t know what is. How could I not fully enjoy all 3 minutes and 32 seconds of that “moment”.

“People say I’m lazy dreaming my life away
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me
When I tell them that I’m doing fine watching shadows on the wall
Don’t you miss the big time boy you’re no longer on the ball

I’m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go “

My printer has punched out for the night, and Ray Charles is finishing the night cap with a little “Georgia On My Mind.”
