According to Beer Business Daily, Corona Extra will no longer sponsor Jimmy Buffett’s tour.
Buffett has teamed up with Anheuser-Busch to launch Land Shark Lager.
As excited as I am to try a new beer, I have to admit I’m a bit sad about the break-up. Corona and Buffett went together like Abbott & Costello, Bert & Ernie, Dumb & Dumber, Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston…oh…uh…um, well, it’s still sad.
But I’ll give the new beer a chance. It’s like when you have a friend bring a new girlfriend around, you are obligated to be nice to her and give her a chance before passing judgement, right, isn’t it just like that?
Well, Land Shark lager, you have some big shoes to fill because Corona has always been a really cool girlfriend before you. I mean what was he thinking letting her go? She was always fun to hang out with. Always put you in a better mood. Always there when you had a bad day. Always there on those hot and sticky summer days when you needed a cold one. Always accompanied you to the beach, on the boat, or at a backyard barbeque.
We are still talking about beer aren’t we?
