Congrats to my pal Jimmy Pirate and his band Pirate Dreams. The track “Tropical Breeze” from Pirate Dreams’ debut disc “Memento” has hit #2 on Cashbox Magazine’s “All Indie Pick” charts nationwide after only two weeks on the charts.

Have a listen, it’s on this play list. And if you like what you hear…buy a copy.

Here’s a good way to start off a new week, listen to the latest TropiCast Episode. Better yet, mix up a Snoloha Drink first, then have a listen!

JimmyPirate has a great lineup on the show, including one of my favorites, “Hollow Man”, by The Boat Drunks.

Cheers!

TropiCast Episode #34

Monday, April 14th, 2008

It’s that time of year…for many of us, it’s when Mother Nature begins flirting and teasing us with warmer days. Winter was fun. We enjoyed some great snowfall, darker beers, a little snowboarding, lots of hiking, and early sunsets. But now it’s time for warmer weather, lighter beers, lots of beach time, some sailing, and longer days.

And it’s also the time of year for Trop Rock music (Everyday of the year is the right time for Trop Rock music, but summer is simply the most popular).

You know the drill…kick your feet on the desk, close your eyes, imagine your somewhere else, and have a listen to the latest TropiCast Episode.

Enjoy!

Snoloha on stage…

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

Check it out…that’s the Snoloha SnoTiki t-shirt being sported by JimmyPirate of Pirate Dreams. They recently played the Sunday River Parrot Head Festival in Newry, Maine…Sunday River is a ski resort, and the stage is at the base of a ski hill. That would be snow in the background, and that would be Hawaiian shirts on stage…hmmmm, seems like a perfect Snoloha moment, dont’cha think?!

Give their disc, “Momento”, a listen…I think you’ll dig it. I’m particularly fond of “Palm Tree in Buffalo”…is has a certain “Snoloha” to it.

Thanks, JimmyPirate, for the support, for handing out Snoloha swag, and for the photos.

Gettin’ stuck would be easy

Friday, March 21st, 2008

“Gettin’ stuck sure would be easy
In this palm tree paradise
Ambition fades with every wave
For the finer things in life
Maybe I’ll just hang around here
Go home later next year

I wanna go where I can lighten up the load
Drive a little while on the wrong side of the road
Get this laying low off to a flying start
Play my guitar in the Caribbean sun
Hang with the locals at the Quiet Mon
Where you can be a tourist, a beach bum, or a star
And be as you are”

~ Kenny Chesney “Be as you are”

No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Watch this…I’ll explain more later.

You might want to grab a cold one while you’re at it. Oh, and remove your shoes, and kick your feet up on that desk. That’s it…now go ahead and take a deep breath, exhale, and smile.

Random Lyrics

Short & simple…sometimes that’s all it takes.

“In the mornin’ when you rise
Aren’t you glad to be alive
Oh oh put on your barefoot shoes
When you dance beneath the moon rainbow”

~Jimmy Buffett, “Why The Things We Do
