I’m steadily making progress (I like to say “steadily”, it makes me feel more productive that saying “slowly”) uploading new products. Check out the New Men’s gear. I still have more Men’s to upload, and some Women’s and a new Board Shop Hoodie.

I ran across the TikiTender on Meet The Phlockers. If you’re looking for summer drink recipes, you gotta check out his recipe page. This guy was awarded Backstage Pass Magazine’s “Bartender of the Year” in 2006 & 2007…so he must know a thing or two about putting together a tasty concoction.
Yep, I’m playing catch up after a weekend on a sailboat. Actually, it was a pretty intense weekend, and it wasn’t all play. I was fortunate enough to go through the ASA (American Sailing Association) 101/103 Keelboat & Coastal Cruising Course. I took the course through my friends at Solstice Sailing and Bay Breeze Yacht Charters.
If anyone reading this has ever thought about taking a sailing class or learning more about sailing, I highly recommend Dan “The Man” Spyhalski. Dan was our instructor this weekend and did an amazing job. We had no wind, strong wind, gusting wind, light rain, heavy rain, lightening and a little thunder, hot temps and then cold temps…basically a normal northern Michigan weekend on the water. You never know what you’re going to get! It was perfect learning weather. And the whole time, Dan was as “cool as the other side of the pillow”. Do be warned though, it’ll change you. It becomes a lifestyle. It’s addicting.
Now, back to bidness.
I have 13 new products to get on the website this week. So far, I only have a few uploaded including a Snoloha Polo shirt - perfect for casual Friday, a round of golf, sipping on a cold one, or just doing nothing!
There is also a new Polo visor - Navy on Stone. And a new Terry Visor - White on Orange. Simply by putting either of these visors on your head will enable you to escape to that far off place that’s always on your mind. Or I guess you just close your eyes and imagine it just as easily…
Check ‘em out. Buy something. It’s way cheaper than filling up your gas tank.
It’s been one of those weeks. Hectic. Crazy. Scattered. Busy. Ah, the life of a small business owner trying to juggle building a laid-back, slacker-friendly brand by working extremely hard…but trying to fit in the laid-back and slacker-friendly part. It’s difficult.
As usual, I’m working through it while listening to Radio Margaritaville. Music is calming, and lyrics often times have an uncanny ability to speak directly to you when you need to hear it most. I just heard a great John Prine song and these lyrics are worth sharing:
“Ah but fortunately I have the key to escape reality
And you may see me tonight with an illegal smile
It don’t cost very much, but it lasts a long while”

I like that line, “fortunately I have the key to escape reality”. That is really the premise behind Snoloha. The ability to escape from the daily grind to wherever and whatever it is that inspires you, energizes you, or relaxes you.
Have a great Memorial Day Weekend. I’m going sailing this weekend…just what a laid-back, slacker should be doing!
I finally got around to getting some new stickers printed up…so buy some! Stick ‘em on your boat, car, guitar, your friends cars when their not looking…wherever you feel like it, really.
Or, if you decide to purchase some Snoloha gear, there just might be a sticker included when you receive your order.

Yee-ha! That’s right, Snoloha is going Redneck!
On Saturday, we will be attending the 2nd annual Carhartt Redneck Days at Northern Lights Family Outfitters! When Shannon, the owner of Northern Lights (my fiance’s cousin), contacted me about bringing Snoloha to Redneck Days, she also wondered about my target market and wasn’t sure if I would be interested. I actually didn’t even hesitate, and decided to attend.
After all, it’s a valid business concern - target market. But you know, with Snoloha I’m not too concerned. Maybe I should be. I mean all the business and marketing books and classes taught me to be…but I’m not. I’ve learned quite a bit in the young life of this brand so far. And one thing is for sure, that there really is no definitive target market, which I love.
Rednecks, Yuppies, Socialites, Slackers, Thrill-Seekers, Tree Huggers, Elitists, Fudgies…White Collar, Blue Collar, NO Collar! There really is no social stereotype connected to the Snoloha brand. And I really hope that continues. This brand is for anyone and everyone who need a little escape from their everyday lives.
We’ll be enjoying live music and a pig-roasting contest between local restaurants, while peddling Snoloha gear to folks enjoying a northern Michigan Saturday…sounds like a little escapism to me. Perfect!
Okay. As Larry The Cable Guy would say, time to “Git-R-Done”!
