The weather is here…

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

…wish you were beautiful.

We are heading to the British Virgin Islands for a week of sailing. The catamaran you see below will be our home for the week. When they heard I was coming, they changed the name of the boat to “Snoloha”…okay, so I PhotoShopped that in.

We’re back…stay tuned!

More growth…

Friday, March 28th, 2008

The other day I announced the addition of a few more retailers – Country Moose Kids in Maine, Holiday Inn on West Grand Traverse Bay, and Boomer’s Surf Shop in Muskegon, Michigan.

I’d like to welcome to newest member of the Snoloha retail family – Atlanta Ski & Snowboard, located in…Atlanta, Georgia.

Paddle/Ride/Surf Expo

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Looking for a good reason to hang out on the beach? Check out the Crystal Lake Adventure Sports “Paddle/Ride/Surf Expo”, being held on the last weekend in April.

Randy & Elaine are putting together a very cool event on the beautiful Lake Michgan shoreline, in the popular summer destination town of Frankfort, Michigan. There will new gear to check out and to try out from companies like Hobie, Dagger, Cabrinha, Kona…and yes, Snoloha! I’ll be setting up the Snoloha Tiki Bar, and bringing along some gear to sell.

So if you’re in the market, or just lookin’ to get in the mood, for some new outdoor toys, be sure to come out and visit us…we’ll be hangin’ on the beach. Not a bad way to spend a couple of work days.

Still growing…

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

I’d like to welcome some new retailers to the Snoloha family. Country Moose Kids, located in Berwick Maine, is the first official retailer of Snoloha Lil’ Ones gear. Thanks Laura, for the support! Then we have Boomer’s Surf Shop in Muskegon, Michigan (located on the Lake Michigan shoreline). Tracy will be carrying Snoloha on Boomer’s website and at the new shop this summer. And the most recent addition to the retail family is the Holiday Inn on West Grand Traverse Bay. Located on the beach, this should be a great resort location for the brand. Emily put together a nice selection for their guests this summer.

If you have a favorite shop in your area that would be a good Snoloha fit…let me know!

Es Oficial

Es oficial – Snoloha va a España!

Yes, it is official – Snoloha is going to Spain…and eventually other countries throughout Europe. I’m proud to announce after nearly 3 1/2 months of planning, researching, phone conversations, legal fees, and email exchanges that Robe-World distribution is the licensee of the Snoloha brand.

The launch will begin this summer in southern Spain along the coast of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. There will be a website developed in conjunction with this relationship as well.

If you would have ask me a year ago where I envisioned the Snoloha brand today, I wouldn’t have even considered Spain. Sure, I’ve had a long-term idea in mind of an international presence, but to have this opportunity with a brand that is only 16 months old is an amazing feeling. I feel truly blessed for this opportunity. The reality that this name, “Snoloha”, this brand, and this company that I created will now be shared on an international level…well, it simply has not sunk in yet.

I’ll probably be writing a bit more about this in the coming days as it slowly sinks in and I can comprehend it more clearly.

Thanks Monica for translating the Snoloha definition for me:

La definición de “Snoloha” es “Una forma de vida compartida por los que viven, juegan, viajan, se distienden, o simplemente disfrutan de la vida en algún lugar entre las islas y el ártico.”

TropiCast Showcase #33

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Check out the latest TropiCast episode. A great way to kill some time during the work day.

In this episode Jimmy Pirate “brings you up to speed on a great new Parrot Head website, a little Trop Rock News, a Trop Rock Event Report and of course some of the best Trop Rock out there”, including one of my favorites – “Hollow Man” by The Boat Drunks.

Kick back. Enjoy.

Gettin’ stuck would be easy

Friday, March 21st, 2008

“Gettin’ stuck sure would be easy
In this palm tree paradise
Ambition fades with every wave
For the finer things in life
Maybe I’ll just hang around here
Go home later next year

I wanna go where I can lighten up the load
Drive a little while on the wrong side of the road
Get this laying low off to a flying start
Play my guitar in the Caribbean sun
Hang with the locals at the Quiet Mon
Where you can be a tourist, a beach bum, or a star
And be as you are”

~ Kenny Chesney “Be as you are”

No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Watch this…I’ll explain more later.

You might want to grab a cold one while you’re at it. Oh, and remove your shoes, and kick your feet up on that desk. That’s it…now go ahead and take a deep breath, exhale, and smile.

Random Lyrics

Short & simple…sometimes that’s all it takes.

“In the mornin’ when you rise
Aren’t you glad to be alive
Oh oh put on your barefoot shoes
When you dance beneath the moon rainbow”

~Jimmy Buffett, “Why The Things We Do
