Where do you shop?

Monday, January 28th, 2008

It’s that time of year…opening Snoloha accounts with new Retailers and growing the brand. One of the difficulties of launching this brand has been “timing”. Many retailers are already buying for Fall / Winter. Here we are still trying to squeeze in for Spring / Summer. But we’re catching up. And I think we’ll be “in the retail buying cycle” soon.

Sarah, Dave, and Newton (and myself) are all hard at work seeking out new stores whose product mix and customers fit the Snoloha brand.

I thought it made sense to ask “where do you shop”? Or perhaps the question is, “do you know of any stores in your area that fit the Snoloha brand?”

If you know of any, and want to share…shoot an email to me (rod@snoloha.com).

As always, thanks for the support and the feedback!

What people are saying

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

I received this email just the other day. I couldn’t ask for a better connection to the Snoloha brand. We are still a very new and young company in this mass-marketed environment, and hearing this type of feedback reinforces why I decided to launch this brand, take the risk involved, and work longer and harder than I ever have before.

“I am so pleased in what you guys stand for and your products are AWESOME!!! I cannot believe how many people have stopped me and asked me at places around the city where did you get your shirt?…..I usually do not send emails out to companies but I just wanted to let you know that what you guys as a company are doing is spreading alot of cheer…I can say personaly that everytime i am wearing your brand I have a smile on my face…just saying SNOLOHA and its meaning just makes a person feel free….and in todays day and age its hard to come buy that…So KUDOS from our family to yours…”

Winter Blow Out

Monday, January 21st, 2008

With new colors and products on the way for this Spring & Summer…we need to make some room! Plus as you are preparing for, and counting down to that Spring Break vacation (whether it’s somewhere in the sun or somewhere on the slopes), it’s a perfect time to pickup some Snoloha gear to take with you.

So check out all the gear now on sale at 40% off.

Click here for Men’s. Click here for Women’s. Or if you want to see everything at once…then click here!

The sale items seem to be loading a bit slow, so please be patient (it could just be my connection though).

Pass this along to all your friends, family, co-workers and strangers on the street.

A little feedback

Friday, January 18th, 2008

If you haven’t read the post below…you should check it out.

Last year when this site and blog was still very new, I asked the following question, “When you think about Snoloha, what do you think about?”

Well, since the brand, the site, and blog readership has grown, I’d like to throw that questions out there again.

Shoot me an email with your thoughts.

Snoloha Daydreaming

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Seattle Dave has knack for creative writing. He also has a very deep understanding of what Snoloha is. During a few rounds of emails between the two of us, I received one that stood out, and Dave agreed to let me post this:

While mowing the lawn the other day, doing the deep-thinking that only happens to me while mowing the lawn, I was daydreaming about Snoloha and really got into what is being sold. It is not a t-shirt or a hoodie. It is piece of mind and a state of mind and access to the happy places, which reside, occasionally dormant, in our spirits. It is about what matters. The gear is merely a vehicle for that feeling. The feeling you get being slightly sunburned and tired from a day on the water when you sit back with a beer and your buddies and are truly content. Those times when you would not wish yourself anywhere in the world, but where you are. You smell like suntan lotion and Doritos and can’t stop grinning. The smiles are true and the laughter is easy. You feel complete. I think the Snoloha brand and the genuine intent behind it’s products is that feeling. It’s powerful stuff. It’s the best thing there is.

New Features

A couple of new features to point out:

First, if you’d like to subscribe to this blog and receive it via email, you can click on the link to the right (just above the photo), or you can click here.

Second, there is a Snoloha Map now available. Again, it’s accessible in the sidebar (below the photo), and at the bottom of the Community page, or you can access it here. So have a visit, put yourself on the map, and leave a message!

Rubbin’ it in…

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Rob called me today, and not just to talk…rather to inform me of his “Snoloha day” he was enjoying. I should mention that just before the phone call, I was preparing for a bank meeting, so to hear about his day was a little depressing.

He arrived at the ski hill 30 minutes before they opened, and was the first chair lift of the morning. For the first couple hours, he could count the number of runs he made by looking at his turns carved into the snow below him…there was little traffic on the hill, and that’s a beautiful thing (for the skier, but not the ski hill).

When he called me, he was taking a break, enjoying an ice-cold PBR (yes, a Pabst Blue Ribbon), and listening to some Kenny Chesney. He then proceeded to inform me that after the afternoon session, he was going to end the day with another PBR and a nice cigar.

I suddenly realized how much I was dreading a bank meeting, and that maybe I shouldn’t have taken his call…thanks for sharing, and rubbin’ it in Rob.

Living up to the image

Monday, January 14th, 2008

The Snoloha brand means many different things to many different people. As a result of the MSN and StartupNation award, “slacker” is one word that people identify with. A “slacker” is a person who evades his or her work. Of course, as the old saying goes, if you do something you love, then it’s not work. For me, it’s hard to be a slacker since I love what I’m doing. However, today I am going to live up to the slacker image. I’m bailing early to go snowboarding. Do I feel guilty? Yes I do. But as I look out the window at the snow falling, I’m guessing that this feeling of guilt will subside quickly after that first run.

When I think back to that “office job” that I dreaded, it makes going snowboarding on a Monday seem like a dream come true. When I think about that line from “Office Space”, “sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays”, I smile and think that if snowboarding is a case of the Monday’s, then I’m a pretty lucky guy today.

But you know, going snowboarding on a snowy January is what the Snoloha lifestyle is all about – Snoloha is a lifestyle people live everyday, a couple times a year, once in a lifetime, or in their minds all the time. It’s carrying a vacation mentality through everyday life, celebrating and enjoying all the seasons that get thrown at us.

So it’s not just living up to the slacker image, but it’s living the lifestyle as well.

Enjoy the day everyone, I know I will.

SnoPalm

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

Enjoyed a nice hike through some freshly fallen snow on a Sunday afternoon, and came upon this “Snoloha style” tree (the “SnoPalm”). Its bright green needles with its branches weighed down from the snow creating a palm tree affect definitely made it stand out from its surroundings of bare hardwoods.

Just had to share…
