Snoloha Style Christmas Music

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Kenny Chesney_XmasA little Snoloha style Christmas music from Kenny Chesney, “All I Want For Christmas Is A Real Good Tan.”

“All I want for Christmas is a real good tan,
take me to the Islands put my feet in the sand,
rockin’ to and fro with the rhythm of the ocean,
singin’ Silent Night with the palm trees ablowin’..

Well everybody’s praying for a Christmas so white,
come to think about it, that’d be alright,
as long as it’s sand and not snow on the ground,
and everyday our skin gets a little more brown”

What’s Happening

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

It’s been quite hectic lately…but hectic in a good way. The new designs are moving and the brand continues to grow and touch people in ways that I could have never imagined. The Spring catalog is pretty much finished and we will be experimenting with some new screen printing techniques to enhance the Snoloha designs. There are also Snoloha Reps in place, retail interest across the country, and some great news / stories to share in the coming days, weeks, and months.

Thanks, Barb, for this shot of the Mackinaw Bridge.

A Little Thanks

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

I thought it was appropriate with Turkey Day being tomorrow that I write from a more intimate and personal perspective.

I’m looking out my window this morning at all the leaves that need raking in the front yard. And I thought to myself what a pain-in-the-you-know-what it is and how I’m dreading it! Then I laughed at myself. What the hell’s the big deal? It’s just raking some stupid leaves. I should be so lucky.

It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind of everyday life (household chores, bills, work, etc), and find yourself focusing on the negatives and things that are out of your control.

This is where I’m suppose to say that a “Snoloha” moment is needed. But I’m not.

This is where a little reflection and perspective is needed. This is when you take a step back, a deep breath, and really look at what you can be thankful for. Yes, times get tough. But isn’t it also true that things do happen for a reason? I believe it does.

I have days when I think about how extremely difficult and stressful it is starting and running a business. Then I find myself focusing on the stresses. I have to step back and be thankful for the support from my fiance, my friends, my family, and my customers. I am grateful for the opportunity to fulfill my dream. And I could never have reached this point without all the support.

What are you grateful for? Go ahead and answer. It actually feels really good.

So thank you everyone, for everything. Now I have to go rake some leaves…

“Yesterday’s over my shoulder
So I can’t look back for too long
There’s just too much to see
Waiting in front of me
And I know that I just can’t go wrong”

~Jimmy Buffett, “Changes in Attitudes, Changes in Latitudes”

“Greetings from…

…the Grand Bahamas”.

That’s the email I received today from Ryan, along with this pic (That’s his Snoloha BoardShop hoodie).

Keep sending in all these great photos. And remember to visit the Snapshots & Scenery photo gallery to create your own album for a chance to win free Snoloha gear.

A new winner is chosen each month, and the competition keeps getting stronger.

Be sure to also check out the Chronicles & Commentary (Logbook) section of the website. If you enjoy painting a picture with words of your travels, then I think you’ll enjoy this. And feel to send in your “logbook entries” for others to enjoy. After all, sometimes there’s nothing like reading about someone else’s adventures to get you motivated to take that trip you’ve been putting off, or to just kick back – throw on a little Marley – close your eyes – and drift away…

Catching Up…

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

I’m still playing catch-up…

Yesterday we printed the Trop Rock design. It will be launched this weekend in conjunction with the TropiCast Radio Show. I’ll have it on the site by weeks end.

There are a handful of other designs that I will be getting on the site as well, including SnoMon, Fork in the Road, Full Color Logo, and BoardShop. I’m hoping to have them up by tomorrow (Thursday), along with a handful of new winter hats…so stay tuned!

It’s been a ton of fun welcoming all the new Snoloha friends, family-members, and fans to this brand and this lifestyle. There are some very exciting developments underway that I’ll be sharing soon.

As alway, thank you for the support!

Oh, and I’m hoping to get back to regular blog post…

Overwhelming

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

Well, it has been a very exciting week…to say the least!

Thanks to winning the “Most Slacker-Friendly” award, and the great coverage from StartupNation and of course MSN, Snoloha has been exposed to a larger amount of people at one time than I ever could have imagined.

The website has held up quite well. There has been a couple of “slow points”, so please be patient. My hosting company is aware of the spike in traffic and is doing a great job at keeping the site running smooth.

But the overwhelming aspect isn’t the traffic to the site, or the “server nerves”, it’s the amazing emails and phone calls that I have received already.

And I’m using “overwhelming” in a good way! Once the dust settles and I can take a breath, I will be able to share some of the kind words that new Snoloha friends have sent in. Selling Snoloha gear is obviously what I need to do in order to continue making a living doing this, but I have to say, the connection with people and the way they “feel” the brand is way more exciting than making a sale.

The whole purpose behind Snoloha is to promote a lifestyle. As I’ve said before Snoloha is very much an inherent feeling and it means something different and represents something different to everyone. It is a lifestyle people live everyday, a couple times a year, once in a lifetime, or in their minds all the time. It’s carrying a vacation mentality through everyday life, celebrating and enjoying all the seasons that get thrown at us.

Knowing that there are people all over the country and the world that can relate to this brand is a pretty amazing feeling.

Thank you very much for all the support and all the feedback, I appreciate it more than you can imagine.

Enjoy the day…I know I will~
